Samsung negotiating about acquiring Fiat subsidiary Magneti Marelli

South Korea's Samsung Electronics is negotiating about acquiring a part or the entirety of operations of Magneti Marelli, a car components producer, from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, according to a source familiar with the situation.

As the New York agency Bloomberg reports, Samsung is especially interested in lighting and telemetry operations and might consider acquiring the whole company, an unnamed source stated.

The value of the agreement, which might be signed this year, might exceed USD 3 billion, which would make it Samsung's largest acquisition outside South Korea.
