Seven agricultural holdings and three legal entities signed, on Tuesday, July 26, agreements with the Provincial Secretariat for Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry on subsidies for the procurement of anti-hail nets for the production of fruit. The Secretariat has set aside RSD 45 million for the purpose, with more assets still being available, and the contest is open until September 30.
The agricultural cooperative Ratar from Kukujevci is one of the ten applicants which have received assets for the procurement of anti-hail equipment.
– We are installing an anti-hail network across 10 hectares of apple plantations and we have received RSD 8 million, which is the upper limit, or close to half of assets needed. This is, of course, very important for us, as we all aim to maintain the orchard – said Vidosav Brnjasevic, the director of the agricultural cooperative Ratar Kukujevci.
The Korac family from Sid will also be securing its fruit from now on. They have planted two hectares of cherries and they wish to grow pears and apples as well. They are aware that adverse weather conditions are becoming more frequent and that anti-hail nets are the best means of protection.
A total of RSD 270 million is available at this year's contest for the procurement of anti-hail protection.
– I'm very satisfied that we have managed to sign agreements with 10 clients, and I'd also like to note that a good part of the assets has been used for this purpose in the past period. It has turned out that agricultural producers are very interested – said Vuk Radojevic, Provincial Secretary for Agriculture.
There's still RSD 65 million left for the purpose, and the contest is open until September 30.
