Ahold-Delhaize merger completed successfully – One of the world's biggest retail chains forms

Delhaize Serbia has announced that, starting on Monday, July 25, it will continue operating as Ahold Delhaize, as the merger between Ahold and the Delhaize Group has been completed successfully.

As stated, Ahold Delhazie is becoming one of the world`s largest retail companies, a leader in supermarkets and internet trade and in sustainable development as well. After the successfully completed merger process on July 23, the company will officially start to trade in the stock exchanges Euronext Amsterdam and Euronext Brussels.

Our strong e-commerce businesses and 22 great, local brands each share a passion for delivering great food, value, and innovation for customers, and for making a difference in their local communities – stated Ahold Delhaize CEO Dick Boer and thanked the employees for their dedication and hard work.

The merger between Ahold and the Delhaize Group was announced on June 24, 2015, and was officially completed on July 24, 2015. The new company has a legacy of 150 years, more than 375,000 employees, 22 local brands in 11 countries which cater to more than 50 million customers each week.

Delhaize Serbia operates through Maxi, Tempo and Shop&Go, and its network has over 390 retail shops.
