GeoGIS Consultanti from Belgrade to become part of team that implements Information System GIS on 315 km of highways in Croatia ?

Consortium of English company "Righton International" and Serbian company GeoGIS Consultanti from Belgrade prequalified for participation in the tender for design of Highway Data Base project for 315 km of highways in Croatia. The project is financed by IBRD (International Bank for Reconstruction and Development) and its implementation will start in March 2008 and it will be finished within 18 months.

The project includes acquisition of all relevant data on the highway entities, aboveground and underground infrastructure with all of its attributes that are defined in the project for Information system of road network in Croatia, which is maintained by company Croatian Highways – national company for management, building and maintenance of roads or Republic of Croatia.

The offer for realization of the project was submitted on January 15, 2008, and it encompassed the phases of acquisition of data on lane surface and aboveground infrastructure by the method of laser scanning from the special vehicle (Street Mapper) and helicopter – up to 94 points per square meter, by means of digital camera, as well as through additional survey by means of conventional GPS technology and technologies of total stations.

Company Righton International will provide Project Management, field works will be realized by partners of GeoGIS for laser scanning and colleagues from the Geodetic Faculty of the University in Zagreb. Complete numeric-graphical processing and forming of the database will be realized by the GIS team of GeoGIS.

Having in mind the scoring method defined in the tender and facts that the consortium has high-quality references and exceptional team of experts of Righton International supplemented with Prof. Dr. Đ. Uzelac, Prof. Dr. T.Ninkov (the owner of GeoGIS) and their associates from the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad, as well as Prof Dr. B. Pribićević with the associates from the Geodesic Faculty of the University in Zagreb, it can be expected that the consortium will be highly competitive.
