The company Fiat Serbia and the representatives of the unions reached an agreement, following their meeting with Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic on Friday, that the decision about the application for the voluntary leaving is in the best interest of all employees, the local community and the Fiat company.

- The agreement has been made and the employees who choose to leave the company voluntarily will receive adjusted reimbursements – said the representative of the unions Zoran Markovic.

As the announcement of Fiat Serbia states, he said that the agreed severance package was larger than the minimal one prescribed by the law and that it would secure additional benefits which exceeded those prescribed by the law. - This kind of voluntary leaving has as its goal to establish a realistic scope of the organization in order for it to adjust to the demands of the market – said Markovic.

Fiat says that they are trying to meet the employees halfway and that they intend to offer the most favorable conditions to employees who decide to use the social program.

- In the course of the negotiations about the voluntary leaving, the Government of Serbia contributed to finding the solution for the current situation, considering that it is in the best interest of all parties for the factory to continue operating, thereby securing the continuity of its business activities – the announcement says.

(Aleksandar Vucic) The future of Fiat in Serbia is guaranteed, said Aleksandar Vucic.

Vucic said that he had had talks with the workers and the unions, especially with those workers who depended the most on the factory's future. - I will visit Turin soon and bring news of Fiat's secure future in Serbia – he said.

According to him, the company might choose to carry out the voluntary leaving program, but the state would strive to do everything necessary. - I believe our intention is to help as much as we can, but of course, Fiat has its own logic and financial plan – he said.
