Finalization of merging - BancaIntesa and Panonska bank united from January, 1st
BancaIntesa in Serbia and Panonska bank have formaly finished merging and from January, 1st, 2008, they are working as one bank, stated the President of Executive board of the bank, Draginja Djuric.
She said that by merging of these two members of Italian banking group Intesa Sanpaolo, they created a bank with a balance active of 2,5 billions EUR, 1,2 billions EUR of citizens and commerce placement and with more than one millions clients.
- BancaIntesa has strengthened the leading position at the banking market of Serbia with this merging with Panonska bank - pointed out Draginja Djuric.
After the merging, the bank has 225 branches in 100 cities and hires 3.000 workers, and besides active height, total placement and deposits, Intesa is the first ranged in Serbia, also by the height of shares' capital, which reached 28,2 billions RSD (356,4 millions eur).
The President of the Executive board of Intesa in Serbia, Draginja Djuric, stated that with 110.000 corporative clients and total placement of about 830 millions EUR this bank is one of the biggest creditors of Serbian commerce.
Merging of Panonska bank and Intesa in Serbia followed integration of their matic groups, Italian banks Intesa and Sanpaolo IMI, which are doing business together from January, 2007, under the name Intesa Sanpaolo.
