China and Serbia sign 22 memorandums of cooperation

The delegations of Serbia and China signed a total of 22 memorandums of understanding in Belgrade.

Among the memorandums signed are the joint statement of Serbia and China on establishing the all-encompassing strategic partnership, signed by the presidents Tomislav Nikolic and Xi Jinping.

Memorandums were signed in the areas of construction, infrastructure, telecommunications, trade, defense, media, and one of the most important memorandums is the one on construction work on the building of the Surcin-Obrenovac section of Corridor 11.

The memorandum on that project was signed by the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic and the executive director of the company China Communications Construction Company Liu Shun.

The minister without portfolio in charge of European integration Jadranka Joksimovic and the Minister of Commerce of China Gao Hucheng signed the memorandums on the economic and technical cooperation between Serbia and China for 2015 and 2016.

Mihajlovic and the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Liu Haixing signed the Memorandum of Understanding between her Ministry and the Secretariat for Cooperation Between China and Central and Eastern European Countries on the establishment of the Center for cooperation in the areas of transport and infrastructure between China and Central and Eastern European countries.

The Minister of Economy Zeljko Sertic and the chairman of the National Development and Research Commission of China Xu Shaoshi signed the Memorandum on the development of cooperation of production capacities.

The Minister of Defense Zoran Djordjevic and the Ambassador of China to Belgrade Li Manchang signed the Memorandum on cooperation in the area of defense industry.

The Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Serbia Rasim Ljajic and Shaoshi signed the Memorandum of understanding and improvement of the development of the digital silk road for the information interconnectedness, and Ljajic and the chairman of Exim Bank Hu Xiaolian signed the framework agreement on the promotion of cooperation in the areas of trade, tourism and telecommunications.

The Director General of Telekom Srbija Predrag Culibrk signed with Xiaolian and the chairman of the Bank of China Tjen Go Li the credit financial agreement which follows the framework agreement on the delivery of equipment and materials, construction works execution and providing services for the realization of the project of ALL IP transformation.

Culibrk and the deputy director of Huawei Technologies Liu Yong signed the framework agreement on the delivery of equipment and materials, construction work execution and providing services for the realization of the project of ALL IP transformation.

The Minister of Finance Dusan Vujovic and the chairman of Exim Bank signed the memorandum of understanding on the cooperation between the two institutions.

The Minister of Mining and Energy Aleksandar Antic and the vice-president of the company Silk Road Fund Wang Yanzhi, the president of the company China Gezhouba Group Wang Tjening and the president of the company China Environmental Energy Holdings Yui Xinyu signed the memorandum of understanding and joint investment in the renewable energy projects in Serbia.

The memorandum of understanding on financing and construction of the waste-to-energy power plant in Serbia was signed by the Minister of Energy Aleksandar Antic and the president of the company China Machinery Engineering Corporation Zhang Chun and the assistant president of the company Poly Wang Xingye.

The First Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Wang Yi signed the memorandum of understanding between the Diplomatic Academy of Serbia and the China Foreign Affairs University and the Diplomatic Academy of China.

The Minister of Education Srdjan Verbic and the Ambassador of China to Serbia Li Manchang signed the memorandum of understanding between the two Ministries on financing the R&D projects.

The Ministers of Culture Ivan Tasovac and Luo Shugang signed the program of cooperation in the areas of culture and art for the 2017-2020 period, whereas Tasovac and the deputy director of the State Council Information Office of China Guo Weimin signed the memorandum of understanding between the Ministry and the Office.

The director of Radio Television of Serbia Dragan Bujosevic and the director of China Radio International Wang Gengnian signed the memorandum of understanding of the two media houses.

The mayor of Belgrade Sinisa Mali, the president of the company China Machinery Engineering Corporation Zhang Chun and the assistant president of the company Poly Wan Xingye signed the memorandum of understanding on the wastewater project, whereas the mayor of Kragujevac Radomir Nikolic and the permanent member of the Communist Part of China's Sjanxi province committee Wei Mindzou signed the memorandum on establishing friendly relations between Kragujevac and the city of Xi'an.

The governor of the National Bank of Serbia Jorgovanka Tabakovic and Ambassador Li signed the letters on the bilateral currency swap arrangement between the NBS and the People's Bank of China.
