The German retail chain Lidl plans to open a large number of retail objects in Serbia by 2018, out of which several will be opened in Belgrade, it was told to the Beta agency by the Lidl Serbia company representatives. The construction of the first Lidl object in Belgrade, in Vojislava Ilica Street on Konjarnik, as stated, began on April 01 this year, as well as in Zrenjanin, Bor and Šabac.
- The beginning of the construction of new, as well as the continuance of building the already started projects, is planned to take place throughout 2016 and 2017 - they say in the Lidl Serbia.
They remind in the company that they have finished their first retail object in Serbia, in Smederevo, which should enable the testing of the model. It was designed according to the latest concept of Lidl objects and it represents the basis for the further construction of objects.
Key advantages of this concept of construction are the increased energetic efficiency and the use of ecological materials, it was said in Lidl.
As it was announced after the meeting of the Prime Minister of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, with the Lidl representatives, the company plans to build 20 retail objects in Serbia this year and the next one, and a distributive centre in Nova Pazova by May 2017.
It was announced then that the long-term plan of Lidl is to have 100 retail objects in Serbia.
