IKEA is starting preparatory works for department store construction - Facility on 34.000 m2 underway
Preparatory work for the construction of the first IKEA
department store in Serbia started, regional head for development of IKEA
Vladislav Lalic said on Wednesday, March 30, 2016.
At the round table "Consumer rights: a challenge or an
opportunity for brand and company," he outlined that preparatory work as well as work on relocation
of the toll at Bubanj Potok started, adding that he no longer expects any
surprises.
Lalic announced that IKEA in Serbia will open its doors in the summer of
next year, adding that the company is counting on two and a half million
customers a year in the facility on 34,000 m2, where 300 people will be
employed. Speaking of the region, he said the objective of IKEA is to have 13
department stores at the Western Balkans.
He said the company will, when it opens its store in Belgrade, fully align its operations with the legislation.
