According to the results of the latest survey conducted by the National Bank of Serbia (NBS), which are published today, Serbia's financial sector expects the year-on-year inflation in February 2017 to be at a level of 2.8%, while the economy sector forecasts that it will reach 2.0%.

Inflationary expectations of the financial sector for the next year have been within the NBS target range of 4.0%±1.5% for more than two years, the NBS' release reads.

Expectations for the medium term inflation for two years in advance, that is, February 2018, are anchored at a level of 3.5% in the financial sector and at 2.5% in the economy sector.

The NBS says that "low and anchored inflationary expectations contribute to greater efficiency of monetary policy in the maintenance of low, stable and foreseeable inflation in the medium term".
