Based on constitutional and statutory authorizations, Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic nominated Zoran Djordjevic, the current state secretary of the Defense Ministry, for the position of Defense Minister on Saturday (20 February 2016).

The new defense minister will be performing their duties temporarily, until the formation of the new Government, which will follow the early parliamentary elections this year.
