The web portal eKapija has launched a Call for Nominations for the Best Investment in 2015 - Aurea 2016. And while we are waiting to see who the new winners will be, we`ve paid a visit to companies that were shortlisted for awards last year to see how far they`ve come in their business development.

Belgrade-based Meter&Control was nominated for the 2015 Aurea Award for its project IDIS interoperable electric meters.

Namely, this company completed the IDIS certification process for its electric meters ST401 and SM401 in 2014, thus becoming one of the five manufacturers in the world holding this certificate and operating globally.

These IDIS electric meters ST401 and SM401, which were developed by an expert team of Meter&Control consisting of 30 engineers, are intended for use in all consumption categories and are produced in line with the latest international standards.

The completed IDIS certification process means that electric meters of different producers can operate within the same system and that their features and communication protocols are fully standardized. The company invested EUR 3 million in their development and landed a big deal in Bosnia-Herzegovina in late 2014.

As people at Meter&Control said to eKapija, over EUR 1 million worth of project in Bosnia-Herzegovina is finished, and their plans for 2016 call for more intensive promotion and positioning in markets abroad. For that purpose, they also completed the MID B certification process for their electric meters, which guarantees their compliance with technical requirements in the territory of the European Union.

This certification process, which was completed in the Netherlands, makes it easier for the Belgrade producer of smart meters to enter the markets of other European countries as well as the Near East and Africa.

As they say, there has been no big projects in Serbia so far that could ensure them references which are necessary for participation in large deals abroad.

Fifty employees at the moment, new hires soon

Aside from electric meters, Meter&Control also develops and produces other components of the remote reading and management systems (communication devices, software in the Management Center), and it owns an accredited laboratory for verification and servicing of all types of electric meters.

This company with a headquarters in Zemun was established in 2008, it currently employs about 50 workers, but this number will soon grow bigger.
