During 2015, Austria increased trade exchange with Serbia and Croatia and only with Serbia, in the January-October period exports increased by 11%, and import by 14%. Value of export between Austria and Serbia reached EUR 460 m and import EUR 323 m, representative of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce in Belgrade, Erika Teoman-Brener announced.

On Monday, January 25, 2016, she outlined in her interview with journalists in Vienna that Austrian companies in Serbia have positive perspective over “true joining of the country to EU". According to her, companies are carefully optimistic when it comes to their development in Serbia.

When it comes to Croatia, export of Austria to that country by the end of October 2015 increased by 14% and reached EUR 1,1 billion while import has been on increase as well by12% and reached EUR 445 m.

Rauch and Teoman-Brener estimated it takes a number of structural reforms in both countries. Serbian governmental sector is huge and the country depends too much on foreign investments, Teoman Brener thinks.
