Along the curvy bridge, torusits and
Belgrade citizens will soon be able to reach Sava quay and Belgrade fortress.
The facility whose construction should start in June, will be a shortcut from the
walking area at the Sava to the mosty valuable Belgrade’s cultural monument – a
fortification at the hill above the confluence of the Sava into the Danube . Pedestrian
zone with an unusual sculpture which eight years ago was designed by a sculptor
Mrdjan Bajic and his British colleague Richard
Dickon, was selected by the city as a design which “will not attack the fortress
and hide its beauties”.
The main city planner, Milutin Folic, reveled for Politika that it
will no longer stay at the drawer sine development of the main design is
starting thanks to donation of the CIP Traffic Institute.
Thus, multi-decade wish that tourists who are visiting Belgrade by
river do not skip over rails and do not go through jams in Karadjordjeva street
and Bulevar vojvode Bojovica to discover
Belgrade.
Directly from ships, they will reach Knez Mihailova and pedestrian zones in the
center, fast and safely, Folic is pompously announcing.
