In addition to "General Motors", that is, company "Opel", Austrian automobile company "Steyr Puch", which assembles world-famous makes of automobiles, is also interested in privatization of Automobile Factory "Zastava".

Representatives of "Steyr Puch" were staying in "Zastava" these days, where they were informed on the potentials of the Kragujevac factory, and then they talk with the authorized people from the Ministry of Economy about forthcoming privatization of that company.

According to unofficial information, managers of "Steyr Puch" were asking the authorized people in the Ministry of Economy to postpone announcement of tender for sale of Automobile Factory, which was supposed to be announced in December 2007.

People from "Zastava", where tender documentation for privatization of Automobile Factory is being completed, say that the interest expressed by "Steyr Puch" should not be disregarded, but their opinion is that "Opel" is potentially the closest to strategic partnership with Zastava.

They also mentioned possibility of relocation of "Opel's" equipment for production of "astra classic" from the factory in Poland to Kragujevac.
