NALED is asking for withdrawal of Draft of the Law on funding local self-governance

The National Alliance for Local Economic Development (NALED) has estimated today that the Draft of the Law on funding local self-governance should be withdrawn from the procedure since the law will lead to financial weakening of towns and municipalities.

- We suggest the law is withdrawn from the procedure so that additional analysis and projections of income at local level and law implementation effects would be carried out – NALED communicated.

The organization communicated it created simulation with an example of city budget with 100.000 residents which showed that losses when it comes to income would total more than a billion dinars.

- Lack based on different utility fees and environmental fee would be higher than half a billion dinars and based on salary tax additional RSD 600 m – NALED added.

The alliance estimated that in towns and municipalities in Serbia have been increasing responsibility, cutting income and new commitments are due on the way of joining EU.
