MATIJEVIC: I am not going to buy PKB, it is too expensive
I am not going to apply for the acquisition of PKB, and I guarantee that the price is the reason why any of our farmers won't take over this concern either, Matijevic Meat Industry`s owner Petar Matijevic told the daily Blic.
The Privatization Agency has invited bids for the 51-percent stake in Poljoprivredna korporacija Beograd (PKB - Agricultural Corporation Beograd), setting a starting price for that stake at EUR 154 million. Matijevic says that the price is too high, nearly triple the price at which PIK Becej has recently been sold, citing that as a reason why Serbian businessmen won`t hurry to buy this concern.
The sale of PKB came into the spotlight in April when MK Group and Matijevic Meat Industry announced their intention to combine capital and form a consortium in order to acquire PKB.
People at MK Group did not answer Blic`s question yesterday of whether they`re going to apply for the acquisition of PKB.
