According to "Survey of 1.000 firm", conducted by USAID Project for better terms of business (BBT), businessmen in Serbia feel improvement in numerous areas where the government has been actively working on development of legislation framework. Reforms such as issuance of construction permits and inspection supervision contributed to the fact that 55% of participating businessmen think that laws and regulations decreased over the past 12 months. It represents a significant improvement compared to only 18% than in 2011.

- Other areas where in 2015 significant improvement has been made are executive process and the process of delivering permits for business. Unfortunately, these improvements did not lead to the fact that businessmen spend less time and money for solving regulatory issues: both indicators in 2015 are practically the same as in 2014 and it should be one of the key questions to be paid attention to. Apart from that, funding sources for SMEs have still been extremely inadequate which leads to stagnation of economy completely Dragana Stanojevic, deputy head at USAID Project for better business environment says.

Better business environment

Collocutor of our portal says results of this year’s poll indicate that business environment in Serbia has significantly improved in some areas

Results of "Survey of 1.000 firms" show economy feels positive effect of activities of removal and decrease of obstacles in business and that it highly evaluates reforms which decrease unnecessary bureaucracy and provide services of electronic administration.

Global insecurity as an enemy of economy

Nebojsa Matic, owner of MikroElektronika, says his company may not be a good example for business at Serbian market since “during all these crisis years”it has been increasing by stable 20 to 25%".

- There is nothing specific about 2015 except for increased insecurity in the world. Insecurity and uncertainty are the biggest enemies of investing which every economy needs. We can remove something alone and something we cannot. I believe we can help a lot to ourselves and it will also affect economy – Matic says in an interview for eKapija.

Afrodita and Milan Bajic, who 26 years ago set up AMC-Afrodite Mode Collection, this year have involved their son Branislav and daughter Marijana who are introducing innovation in business and company development.

- They give us strength to continue so entire 2015 was featured with constant education of employees with local and foreign consultants. Apart from that, we implemented new technology and dealt with products and service quality increased – Afrodita Bajic says for eKapija.

Head of Marketing Department at Don Don, Nenad Djordjevic, outlines that 2015 was very successful for this company and first of when it comes to development.

New investments, business development, market conquest

Collocutors of eKapija also expect successful 2016 so Afrodita Bajic says that AMC-Afrodite Mode Collection is planning to expand to new markets next year and successful presentation at the fair in Munich.

Nenad Djordjevic says that in 2016 Don Don will focus on product range expansion so that it would satisfy needs of even the most demanding customers through new products.

Dragana Stanojevic from USAID thinks that 2016 will be a big challenge having in mind that “obviously there will be elections”. Challenge will be to continue reform processes and implementation of active measures which could help local, micro, small and medium companies.
