It will be hard for the agricultural company Aleksa Santic, which is located in the namesake village in the Sombor area, to find a buyer. Namely, as the Novi Sad daily Dnevnik writes, the process of the sale of capital assets of this company was declared unsuccessful by the Republic Privatization Agency due to a lack of interested bidders.
This company was put up for sale as a juristic person, complete with two pig farms with a total of 6,000 heads of cattle, silo with a capacity of 18,000 tonnes of crops and grainstore with a capacity of 6,000 tonnes, fodder mixer, drier...
As Dnevnik reports, the company management had found a buyer willing to pay the requested EUR 802,000, but the sale was not closed because they did not hear from anybody, not even from the interested foreign investor, primarily due to "lousy management of the entire process by the Agency" and the fact that the key terms of the call for bids were insufficiently clear and concrete.
Since the first day of the next year will see the end of the Privatization Agency, its successor, the Economy Ministry, will try for the second time to sell the assets of Aleksa Santic, most likely in early 2016.
Let us remind that the Italian confectionery giant Ferrero acquired 699 hectares of agricultural land from Aleksa Santic through its Serbian affiliate Agriser for EUR 7.95 million in April 2015. On that occasion, Ferrero also promised to keep 50 workers and have hazel planted on the entire land.
