Mlekara Subotica dairy commissions new feta cheese production line - Entire production for Russia

Mlekara Subotica, a dairy company which operates as part of Imlek, put the new EUR 1 milllion worth of feta cheese production line into operation today.
Imlek General Manager Ilija Setka said that the new line in the Subotica dairy company would be producing 2,500 tonnes of feta cheese a year, adding that the whole production would be exported to Russia.
Setka also announced that due to the commissioning of the new production line, milk purchases would have to be increased by additional 25,000 tonnes.
- This investment in the cutting-edge machine for producing feta cheese, which was procured in Denmark, will lead to an increase in the export capacity, primarily when it comes to our cheese for the Russian market - said the general manager of Imlek.
The Subotica dairy was the first company in Serbia to obtain the EU approved exporter number in 2011.
Serbian Economy Minister Zeljko Sertic pointed out that Mlekara Subotica was an example of good and successful privatization.
