USB turns 20
Ajay Bhatt, the chief client platform architect at Intel and the creator of USB technology, did not make a dime on that, but he says this does not bother him because, as he stresses, "I don't do these things for money".
- I wanted to bring about a change and facilitate the everyday use of technology. You don't get a chance so often to make such a significant change - Bhatt concludes.
Nobody makes money on USB technology. Intel holds all USB-related patents and, being a big company that stands behind Bhatt's idea, they decided to keep the standard open from the very start.
USB is today considered a standard for connecting various devices, and many companies, including Apple and Microsoft, were not so enthusiastic about this idea when it first emerged in the mid-1990s. However, this invention has undoubtedly made the world seem smaller and better connected, zimo.dnevnik.hr reports.
