Republic SME Agency has announced yesterday (September 19, 2007) that it forwarded more than 1,130 applications for allotment of loans to the starters to the Development Fund, which is much more than expected. Applications came from all over Serbia.

Large number of submitted applications is excellent proof that confirms that Serbia has many young people with good ideas who are ready to try themselves in entrepreneurship and to build their careers through their own business.

Agency expressed satisfaction for achieving two initial goals of the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development and SME Agency, which are: decentralization of collection of loan applications through 17 regional offices, which made loan application process easier for young entrepreneurs in Serbia, and increase in number of new jobs thanks to newly founded enterprises.

The aim of the loans for starters is to stimulate entrepreneurial spirit, as well as to assist in equal rgional development of Serbia. This successful model will be repeated in the following open competition.
