Turkish Ambassador to Serbia Mehmet Kemal Bozay said Tuesday (29 September 2015) in Nis that the interest of Turkish companies in investment projects in the south of Serbia had grown significantly over the past year.

- Concrete good examples, one of which is the Turkish company Jeanci which had only 50 workers when it started the business in Leskovac and now employs a total of 1,100 workers in Leskovac and Krupanj, get other investors thinking about what they could do in Serbia - Bozay pointed out after a meeting with Nis Mayor Zoran Perisic.

He stressed that investment opportunites in Serbia had caught the attention of investors in textile production as well as those investing in the production of car parts, furniture, agriculture and tourism.

- We also talked with the mayor about the arrival of Turkey's Halkbank that has recently become the majority owner of Cacanska Banka. This bank was great at funding small and medium-sized projects in Macedonia, and its intention is to get involved in the financial market in Serbia as soon as possible, primarily in the territory of Belgrade, Novi Sad and Nis - said the Turkish ambassador.

Perisic and Bozay also pointed to a potential for involving Turkish companies in the revival of Konstantin Veliki Airport for the needs of both cargo and passenger transport.
