Adviser to the chairman of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (SCC), Bojan Djuric, said today that the value of goods cleared through customs at border crossings Horgos and Batrovci on a daily basis amounted to EUR 21 million, adding that that was also a potential damage all the companies using these crossings to transport their goods may suffer each day they remained closed.

- It is difficult to measure direct damage. It exists because of these few days when traffic was either missing completely or was significantly reduced. In 2015, under normal circumstances, EUR 21 million worth of goods on average are cleared at border crossings Horgos and Batrovci every day - Djuric told Tanjug news agency.

He says that direct damage is not so big because some of these goods found a way across the border.

Serbian Economy Minister Zeljko Sertic said today that the fact that Croatia had closed its border to cargo traffic would have a serious impact on economic relations and trade across the entire region of southeast Europe.
