Italy's Vibac is going to open a factory producing adhesive tapes of the latest technology in industrial packaging, which is under construction in Jagodina, in 20 days, said Dragan Markovic Palma, the chairperson of the Jagodina City Assembly.

This factory is under construction in the industrial zone in Jagodina, on the Corridor X, about 500 meters away from an international airport and Belgrade-Nis railroad.

- It is the largest factory in Serbia and the Balkans, covering a surface area of about 70,000 square meters, and this investment totaling EUR 70 million will provide jobs for 400 people - Markovic said at a reception for the beekepers of Serbia in the City Assembly.

As it was told Tanjug news agency, Vibac is now receiving applications for jobs at the new factory, "which got particularly intensified starting September 7th".

Construction of the Vibac factory in Jagodina commenced 18 December 2013, and it was financed with direct capital.

The biggest machine in the factory was named Palma by the company owner.

Markovic told Tanjug earlier that the machine was called Palma as a sign of satisfaction because the city maximally fulfilled all the promises to investors.

Vibac plans to export about EUR 150,000,000 worth of goods from Jagodina, mainly to the countries of eastern Europe, former Soviet Union and the Pacific region.
