Swarovski has announced relocation of several of its factories from abroad to the Subotica Free Zone where this company already produces crystals, mainly for the fashion industry. The first production boost is announced to take place in early September, RTV reports.
Swarovski is halting production in Triesen, Lichtenstein and moving it to Serbia, and the new facility of this factory in Subotica covers an area of about 12,000 square meters.
The local self-government in Subotica says Swarovski is a socially responsible company which plans to have a total of 600 employees in that city by the end of this year.
Swarovski has so far invested nearly EUR 22 million in facilities in Subotica, where it currently employs 400 people.
