ILIĆ: Commencement of construction of Horgoš-Požega highway prior to end of November 2007

Minister of Infrastructure of Serbia, Velimir Ilić, said that the works on construction of Horgoš-Požega highway would start by the end of November 2007, as it was stipulated by the contract with concessionaires, Spanish-Austrian consortium "FCC-Alpine Mayreder".

- The project for the first phase of works has been completed and required funds have been provided, while the projects for the second phase of the project will be finished soon - said Ilić.

He reminded that Spanish-Austrian consortium "FCC- Alpine Mayreder" had won on the international tender for concession for construction of Horgoš-Požega highway, as well as that their bid had been more favorable than the bid of the second-ranked bidder (by 1 billion EUR). The contract was signed on March 30, 2007, by the representatives of that consortium and Minister Ilić.
