Serbia in Iraqi market - Telecommunications agreement signed

Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Minister Rasim Ljajic and Iraqi Telecommunications Minister Hassan Kadim Al Rashid today signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of telecommunications between the two countries, which should improve the relations between Serbia and Iraq in this industry.

Signing of this agreement marked the end of the official part of the Iraqi minister's three-day visit to Serbia, during which, in addition to meeting with Ljajic, he also visited Serbian telecom firms such as PTT Srbija, Comtrade, Iritel, Telegroup, Fabrika kablova in Jagodina and Novkabel in Novi Sad, as well as Mihajlo Pupin Institute.

Minister Hassan Kadim Al Rashid pointed out upon signing the agreement that Iraq was interested in all forms of cooperation in the field of telecommunications with our country, importation of cables from Serbia, and participation of Serbian telecommunications experts in development projects in Iraq.

He expressed hope that a joint Iraqi-Serbian telecom venture would soon be established to help initiate cooperation in other industries as well.
