Serbian Mining and Energy Minister Aleksandar Antic said Tuesday (30 June 2015) that after August 1st, when the price of electricity should go up 12%, there might be some additional increases in electricity price, but that the Serbian government's policy was to stretch that process over minimum five years.

- The policy of the Serbian government and the Mining and Energy Ministry is to stretch the process of increasing the price of electricity to the minimum market price over minimum five years - Antic told the press after the working lunch in Belgrade with the representatives of the National Alliance for Local Economic Development (NALED).

As he explained, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank had already requested from the Serbian government before to increase electricity price by more than 12%, which they refused to do.
