MIHAJLOVIC: Law on conversion to be adopted in early July
VP of the Government and the minister of construction, traffic and infrastructure, Zorana Mihajlovic, said that in the previous three months, 30% more construction permits compared to the same period last year.
At the traditional Business lunch at AmCham, she said the most important thing is that the number has been increasing progressively when March, April and May are concerned compared to the same months last year.
Average time for construction permit issuance in Belgrade is, as she outlined, seven days.
Speaking about the number of days which are essential for electricity connection, she said the number went from 90 down to 15 days. She reminded that the Ministry is currently controlling implementation of the Law on planning and construction and outlined that some local self-governance which are not efficient will have certain sanctions.
Apart from faster issuance of construction permits and conversion, key priorities of AmCham this year are, he added, improving business environment, prevention of introduction of new tax and non-tax fees. As he said, in Serbia, there are 360-370 para-fiscal fees and outlined that” it must be stopped” .
Early July to see Law on conversion
Mihajlovic said that the Law on conversion should be adopted in early July at
the Assembly as well as that Serbia has 5.500 ha of construction land which can
be a subject to conversion.
Mihajlovic explained that in Serbia there are 660.000 ha of construction land and that 5.5000 ha is subject to conversion. She said the Government accepted all suggestions of AmCham, NALED which refer to the new law on conversion.
