ANTIC: Electricity price goes up 12% on August 1st
Energy Minister Aleksandar Antic said today that electricity price in Serbia would be increased 12% on August 1st.
He noted that these 12% covered the electricity tax, that is, excise tax.
Antic stated he was aware that it was never a good time to increase the price of electric energy, underlining the necessity for the power supply and generation systems of Serbia to remain stable.
- There are no new jobs and factories without investments in the power supply system - said Antic.
He pointed out that the electricity price would remain the cheapest in Europe, adding that it would still be 15% lower than in Macedonia and twice as low as in Montenegro.
