Serbia to abolish visas for visitors from another 10 countries - Serbian government resumes process of visa liberalization

Serbian Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic announced today that the Government would get a proposal at its next session for abolishing visas for people from 10 countries to resume the process of visa liberalization which greatly contributed to the increase in the number of foreign tourists in Serbia.

Visas will be abolished for visitors from Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Venezuela, Panama, Jamaica, Paraguay, Colombia and Guatemala.

The minister also announced that a Visa Liberalization Task Force had been formed, explaining that there were some additional countries for which visa requirements could be either eased or eliminated.

According to him, aside from increased number of foreign tourists in the first four months of this year, this period also saw an increase in the number of domestic tourists for the first time since 2010.

- Visa liberalization that we started last year has already given results - Ljajic concluded.
