Banca Intesa and Panonska banka - leaders on Serbian market in amount of total investments - 841m EUR
Italian group Intesa SanPaolo, which gathers Banca Intesa and Panonska banka, took the leading position on financial market of Serbia.
According to the data of the National Bank of Serbia, in the first quarter of this year, they took the first place in amount of total investments of 841m EUR, which is 11.6% of market, as well as in deposits of 1.36 billion, which is market share of 13%.
After Banca Intesa increased its capital by additional 100m EUR in February, Intesa Sanpaolo group became the first bank in Serbia in amount of overall capital of 288m EUR.
Intesa SanPaolo plans to direct activities on further consolidation of market position in Serbia, which implies finding of appropriate organization model that would give an optimal result and enhance both quality and regional character of Panonska Banka.
As it was pointed out, the plan is that Intesa and Panonska banka be merged prior to 2008.
