The cabinet of Joksimovic announced
they discussed about “the options of technical support and experience transfer
from Slovenia and timely preparation of Serbia as a country-candidate for usage
of funds from European cohesion and structural funds which become available with
the membership in EU”.
Smerkolj outlined the importance of
timely institutional preparation for usage of these kinds of funds since it is
multiple higher amount of money compared to the amounts from IPA pre-accession
funds used by countries-candidates for membership admission which Serbia is now.
Ministers agreed on estimation that ability of administration and strengthening of capacity for managing IPA funds are the best preparation of the state for efficient exploitation of bigger cohesion funds after joining EU.
