"Basler" insurance company obtained NBS' work permit

NBS has issued the work permit to life insurance company "Basler", owned by Swiss company "Baloise Holding".

- The core activity of insurance company "Basler" is provision of life insurance services, in addition to voluntary pension insurance - National Bank of Serbia announced. Owner of insurance company "Basler" is Swiss company "Baloise Holding", which owns large number of insurance companies, among which is "Basler", one of the five leading insurance companies in Switzerland.

Total premium realized at the level of that business group in 2006 amounted to 3.6 billion CHF for life insurance, that is, 3.1 billion CHF for non-life insurance.

As NBS points out, life insurance company "Basler" intends to focus on life insurance of doctors and dentists, as well as other physical persons, by using banks as the distribution channels.
