MIHAJLOVIC: Reform of Serbian Railways to complete in three years

Serbian Railways is the only public company whose reorganization is going as planned and its complete reform will be finished in three years, Serbian Minister of Construction, Transportation and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic said today.

She told the press before the conference on railway infrastructure in the region that the next three years would see the completion of reconstruction of about 500 kilometers of railway tracks in Serbia.

Serbian Railways currently gets incentives of EUR 100 million from the budget of Serbia every year.

The minister also noted at the conference that Serbian Railways would start operating as a holding and three separate companies on July 1st.

- Without the reform of public companies, we cannot expect progress and investments. Serbian Railways could serve as a model for all other public companies in Serbia - Mihajlovic stressed.
