48 firms interested in waste management in Belgrade - Investment of EUR 250 m

A total of 48 companies answered the public call for participating in waste management project at the territory of Belgrade and the mayor of Belgrade, Sinisa Mali, said the companies are still applying, the City administration said.

- It is the investment of EUR 250 m which implies implementation of new modern waste management system, construction of waste treatment facility, waste recycling line, construction of department for production of energy out of waste and maintenance of Vinca landfill – Mali said.

He said it is a plan that a landfill in Vinca is managed through PPP which is also a plan for garages, metro and similar.

-At this moment, the city does not have time for such huge investments, the way to implement projects like this is through public-private partnership model – Mali said.



Mali said that on March 25 and 26 , the city in cooperation with the World Bank will hold a conference so that they would invite investors to visit the Vinca landfill and become familiar in details with the project and added that during the summer it will be possible to release tender for the project.
