Company "Delta Maxi" has recently opened its first purchase-distributive center for fruit and vegetables in Serbia, the model for which were the solutions applied in Europe and the world, and it had the up-to-date equipment built in it. "Delta" points out that the modern purchase center is not settled in village of Udovice near Smederevo by chance. It is the region that encompasses the environment of Smederevo, part of Šumadija and the valley of the Velika Morava, widely famous by production of fruit and vegetables of top quality.

- Thanks to favorable location, the Center is easily accessible to all manufacturers in the region. It has the surface of 1,700 square meters and more than 1.5m EUR have been invested in its construction. The Center owns, among the rest, an up-to-date machine for calibration of fruit and vegetables, made in Netherlands, and four storage chambers with the capacity of 1,000 cubic meters. We will be purchasing seasonal fruit and vegetables from farmers from April to October and we will be distributing them to the retailing facilities of "Maxi", "Mini Maxi" and "Tempo" - the Manager of Category Management of Food Program in company "Delta Maxi", Bojan Grbović, points out.

Grbović says that the manufacturers of fruit and vegetables who want to collaborate with "Delta" are guaranteed disposal of their products at market prices valid at the moment of purchase. “Delta” deposits money for the delivered goods on their accounts, according to the words of Grbović, within seven days. "Delta" has the intention to open similar purchase-distributive centers in other regions of Serbia. Export is also in the pipeline.

- There are already about 40 tons of early strawberries, 37 tons of ajdared apples, 31 tons of cucumbers and 30 tons of cabbage in the storage chambers, as well as cherries, young potatoes, zucchinis, cauliflowers, peppers, young garlic and other seasonal fruit and vegetables. The plan is that 2,000 tons of peaches and 2,000 tons of nectarines be purchases, as well as 3,000 tons of apples. All exported fruit and vegetables will bear our trademark "favola" – Grbović adds.
