Falsified license plates for carefree summer vacation in Croatia
“Slobodna Dalmacija” writes that the owners of automobiles from Serbia can buy Croatian license plates and disposable HR symbols for only 40 EUR and, in that way, have carefree summer vacation in Croatia. This newspaper also informs that the falsified license plates for Split, Dubrovnik, Rijeka, Zagreb and Zadar are offered in the ads of certain Belgrade’s newspapers and that the advertisers even provide home delivery.
According to the newspaper, the advertisers offer Croatian license plates with excellent Italian magnets, which can be easily attached on the existing license plates and easily removed as soon as the border is crossed. The newspaper warns that some tourists from Serbia will drive their cars with falsified Croatian license plates along the Adriatic Sea this summer, for the sake of safety of their automobiles.
Although there was no official confirmation about existence of ads for sale of falsified license plates in Serbia, Croatian Police have introduced stricter control on the roads and announce that the one who commit such felony in Croatia will have to pay high fine or will be sent to prison for up to three years.
The Police in Serbia have not given any statements yet.
