Cimos to fire 350 employees more in Kikinda
Problems in Kikinda-based Livnica have continued and after last year’s layoffs and leave of 400 people, this spring either will not arrive with better news: it is highly likely that 350 Kikinda citizens will have to look for new positions and will leave the plant whose owner is Slovenian Cimos. After new layoffs, Livnica which used to employ 6000 people will have 1000 employees. Every position is precious and according to everything decisions which have already been made will be difficult to change and this was also shown in the talks of trade union reps and company management.
Representative of the Inter-municipal association of independent trade unions of Kikinda, Coka and Novi Knezeavac met with the management of Livnica Cimos. The main topic at the meeting were the plans of the plant.
– Unfortunately, Slovenian company management policy is to shut down Topli delovi section soon –Trade Union president, Ilija Drljic says.
It is the department with highly skilled workers and the Trade Union believes
they will succeed in finding the best solution.
Livnica Cimos has Automobilska industrija, which comprises: Alatnica, Pogon II, Topli delovi, which will shut down in April, Insert and Metalac, while Lira is separate legal entity.
