Support of governmental institutions to Ponikve airport
The Directorate for civil air traffic donated RSD 8,8 m to the Ponikve airport for increasing safety level while Belgrade airport, Nikola Tesla donated a motor vehicle and telecommunication equipment, it was communicated after meetings of managers of these institutions with the management of the City of Uzice.
The head of the Directorate for civil air traffic, Mirjana Cizmarov, outlined that for the first time, terms have been fulfilled that the institutions helps airports in Serbia from passengers and goods fees.
- Competition for these funds will be released during the year and airports can compete with their projects. The Ponikve airport in December, through the Contract on donation got RSD 8,8 m for examining runway capacity, staff training and installing fence at the airport – Cizmarov said to journalists after the meeting.
She outlined that it takes a lot to be done so that Ponikve airport would become development generator, first of all of tourist trade of the Zlatibor region as well as that for that, apart from the support of the Directorate, greater participation of local self-governance is necessary.
The head of the Ponikve airport, Sasa Savic, said that the support will contribute to much faster development.
The head of the Ponikve airport announced that during the year runway capacity will be investigated so that it would be defined whether it is the same as before bombing when it was designed for reception of all existing airplanes.
