-Today, OMV and Gazprom have taken important steps in providing long-term gas supply of Austria - president of the executive board at OMV Gerhard Roiss said.

Upon signing the document, both partners outlined the role of Baumgarten as a very important spot for Russian gas export.

OMV is affirmed partner of Gazprom for import issues and Austria has thus been getting natural gas deliveries from Russia since 1968. The party which will carry out the amendment of the contract on Russian natural gas is OMV’s branch office where OMV has 64,25% stake.

New, changed contract on gas, should provide long-term gas deliveries to Austria, Tanjug reports.
