History and luxury at the center of Belgrade - Take a look at Constantine the Great hotel (PHOTO)
Last year, Belgrade experienced a true “hotel boom”and eKapija toured one of new aces of our tourist offer. At the lobby of newly-opened Constantine the Great hotel in 27. marta street, we were welcomed by the Christmas tree, a piano from the beginning of 20th century, a rich library, comfortable sofas and pillows.
Although located at one of the most crowded
streets, Constantin is located so that you can stil feel as if you were at home
and it is at the same time glamorous enough to justify its slogan - "the hotel for your unforgettable experience".
A luxurious four-star facility has been welcoming guests since early October.
Since from here you can easily get to Botanical garden, the Assembly building,
the St. Marko Church, Knez Mihailova street, Kalemegdan and Skadarlija, Constantine
the Great is an excellent initial position for city exploring. On the other
hand, it takes you only 20 minutes’ drive to get to the Nikola Tesla airport
from the hotel so those who are coming to Belgrade for business will not face
problems.
Unique hotel design of the Constantine the Great hotel is a mixture of sophisticated styple and nice details of archaic look. The hotel architect was Ljuba Boskovic while Bojan Supeljak was in charge for interior design.
The Constantine the Great hotel has five floors and the construction started in 2007. It has 40 spacious rooms and luxurious suites on 25 do 57 m2. One of the rooms is adapted for the people with special needs. Guests can use 90 beds.
eKapija’s journalists visited the building and saw that the guests at the Constantin the Great hotel can really enjoy to the fullest.
Accommodation price start at EUR 85 per overnight stay and the hotel staff reminds there is an option for agreements in cases of group visits, permanent guests, etc.
A part of the Constantin hotel is a
restaurant Edikt with 65 places. Rich menu offers a mixture of Mediterranean
and traditional cuisine with excellent cakes and different wines. Edikt is open
from 6:30 to 23.
If you are looking for a place or a room for business meetings or smaller private
or corporative events, you can use a banquet hall with 70 seating cars, i.e. up
to 80 cocktail places.
Our hotel host at Constantine the Great was Zorana Dimitrijevic, Marketing and communications specialist who said for eKapija how owners opted to name the hotel after the Roman emperor Constantin.
- The hotel name was discussed in late 2013 which was committed to1.700th anniversary of Milan’s edict. Constantin the Great was originally from our region and we wanted to outline the fact. All countries promote their history so why wouldn’t we in Serbia do it? Therefore we opted to have at the lobby an interesting library which guests can use. The books are about ancient Rome and the history of Serbia, the novels of Andric and many other things which represent our country.
Our collocutor announced the hotel plans for the upcoming period.
. - We are planning to build sixth
floor as well. The idea is to have a few rooms more, suites and a small banquet
hall with board table for 20 people. Of course, it is not definite yet since
everything is in design stage –Zorana Dimitrijevic says.
- Apart from that, they are planning a garage at level -2, for 15 cars with
current opened parking with 45 places. Garage will be paid and parking for the hotel
guests will, as it used to be, free of charge.
Since the idea of the owner of "Constantine the Great" was to promote sights of our country, our collocutor is announcing that they would also like to set up cooperation with the Nikola Tesla Museum so that they would organize some interesting tours to foreigners.
