Law on employment of foreigners adopted
The Serbian Parliament adopted on Tuesday the Law on Employment of Foreigners, which allows equal rights to work and employment to foreign nationals as citizens of Serbia have.
The Law implies temporary and occasional employment contracts for a period of up to three months in a calendar year, while temporary residence exceeding 90 days is envisaged for foreigners who join their family members in Serbia.
Temporary stay longer than 90 days can also be approved for the purpose of employment, f business or other professional activities, education, scientific research, practical training and international student exchange programs, specialization.
According to the National Employment Bureau, some 2.500 foreigners work in Serbia.
