"Cuprom" gave up Mining Smelter Basin (RTB) "Bor" - Zoran Drakulić in the game again
"Cuprom" is not buying RTB "Bor". On Wednesday (April 18, 2007), one day before the expiration of legal deadline for delivery of banking guarantee on the amount of 400m EUR, Romanians sent an announcement to the Privatization Agency, stating that they want to break the sales contract. As a reason, they do not cite the acquiring of the banking guarantee, but the resistance they experienced in Bor.
The Privatization Agency should not accept such argument, because it would mean that "Cuprom" would withdraw from this procedure without any penalties. According to the regulations, if they do not deliver the banking guarantee on Thursday, the Privatization Agency is to fine them 3m EUR, which is the amount of the first banking guarantee they delivered when they applied for the tender.
- We expect the invitation from the Privatization Agency to the negotiations about purchase of RTB - said Zoran Drakulić, the President of company "East point", who, with the offer in amount of 340m USD, was the second-ranked on the tender for privatization of the Bor company.
