State Annuls Decision on Selection of Strategic Partner for Construction of South Ring Road Around Valjevo

The Government of Serbia has adopted the decision annulling the previous decision on the selection of the strategic partner to the end of the realization of the projects of the construction of the south ring road around Valjevo and the ring road around Svilajnac, more precisely, in the part pertaining to the construction of the traffic route near Valjevo.

Let us remind that, two years ago, in January 2022, the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure opened the public invitation for the selection of the strategic partner for the construction of the south ring road around Valjevo and the ring road around Svilajnac, and in March that same year, the Official Gazette announced that the job had been entrusted to the consortium consisting of the companies Srbijaautoput from Belgrade, Integral inzenjering from Laktasi, MHM Projekt from Novi Sad, Institut za puteve Beograd and Teamenergo from Zemun.

The new decision does not cite the reasons for the partial annulment of the previous decision.

The obligations of the strategic partner were to prepare the technical documentation and to carry out the works on the construction of these ring roads.

According to the public invitation, the south ring road around Valjevo is the connection of the business zone of the city of Valjevo with the planned corridor of IB-grade state road no. 27, Loznica-Valjevo-Lazarevac, section Iverak-Lajkovac Interchange, that is, the connection of the city of Valjevo with the Belgrade-South Adriatic highway.

A connection with the industrial zone at km 2+000 in the form of a roundabout was also planned.

The total length of the traffic route will be around 5 kilometers, and it is designed for speeds of up to 100 km/h, with a profile of two physically separated driving lanes, with two traffic lanes for each driving lane.

According to this new decision, however, these companies will be hired for the construction of the traffic route around Svilajnac.

The ring road around Svilajnac will be around 12.5 kilometers long and is meant for speeds of up to 80 km/h, with a traffic lane width of 2x3.5 m.
