Serbian Mining and Energy Minister Zorana Mihajlovic Stated in Dimitrovgrad that the works on the construction of the Nis-Dimitrovgrad interconnector would begin in late November.

She pointed out that the Nis-Dimitrovgrad gas pipeline was important for the diversification of the routes, but also the suppliers of gas.

– Together with the EU, Serbia has secured EUR 85 million, and the works will take around two years. This interconnector is important, because it links us to Bulgaria and enables us to get gas supplies from other directions and other suppliers, whether through Azerbaijan, or Israel and Cyprus remains to be seen. It’s important that we have the infrastructure and that we are ready – she said.
