Construction of Milos Veliki Highway Section from New Belgrade to Surcin Begins – Works to be Completed in 18 Months

The construction of the continuation of the Milos Veliki highway, on the section from New Belgrade to Surcin has begun and should be completed in 18 months according to the plan, whereby the highway to Cacak will be completed, the Government of Serbia announced.

The commercial agreement on this section, which is 7.9 kilometers long, was signed with China Communications Construction Company Ltd (CCCC), and its value is EUR 70.5 million.

As said, this section of the Milos Veliki highway is very demanding in building terms, because it passes through a populated area. It will provide direct access to the Milos Veliki highway to residents of central Belgrade, who will no longer have to access it through the Belgrade-Zagreb highway.

It was announced that, along with this route, a cycling lane would be built. Three lanes in each direction, a division belt of five meters, pedestrian lanes of two meters each and flanks are also planned. The route will feature three bridges, one bridge-canal and one overpass.
