Second call for cross-border projects of Serbia and Romania launched - IPA fund sets aside EUR 20 m

Interreg IPA programRomania-Serbia continues to fund cross-border cooperation projects in theborder area.

Itis the 2014-2020 period, financed by the Instrument for Pre-AccessionAssistance (IPA II), with the support of the European Union and the governmentsof the two countries.

OnMonday (November 27, 2017), another call for projects within the program wasannounced, published at the official website of the program.

Forthe financing of projects in the second call, a bit more than EUR 20 m of IPAfunds was set aside.

Within this call, projects in employment promotion and services for inclusive growth(EUR 6,737,774), environmental protection and risk management (EUR 9,813,050),sustainable mobility and accessibility (EUR 2,007,553) and attractiveness for Sustainable Tourism (1,717,943 EUR) will be funded.

As mentioned above, three counties from Romania (Timis, Karas Severin andMehedinci), as well as six counties from Serbia (North Banat, Central Banat,South Banat, Branicevo, Bor and Podunavlje regions) are involved in this cross-border cooperation program.

Projects are submitted electronically, until March 30, 2018.

Total budget of the program is 88,124,999 EUR, of which 74,906,248 EUR is non-refundable EU funds.
