The European Investment Fund (EIF) and UniCredit signed an InnoFin agreement on guarantees at the Vienna Euromoney conference with the aim of increasing the crediting of innovative small and medium enterprises in eight countries, including Serbia.

The InnoFin agreement enables UniCredit to offer addition financing of EUR 160 million to innovative companies in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania through its banks.

The banks in Serbia and B&H will be supported by the guarantees secured by EIF, as well by the Horizon 2020 program, whereas the guarantees for banks in EU member-states will be supported by the Investment Plan for Europe.

– Thanks to the new umbrella agreement and the widespread network, we are capable of providing additional support to innovative SMEs in various countries in which our clients will have an easier access to financing, but also to more affordable prices – said Carlo Vivaldi, head of UniCredit Central and Eastern Europe Division.
